The problem
For centuries the Amazon has been regularly referred to as the “lungs of our planet”. Rainforests contain 90-140 billion metric tons of carbon that impact every single breath we take and help stabilize local and global climate. Unfortunately these areas are being destroyed at prodigious rates. This is particularly damaging because the Amazon contains the world’s highest biodiversity concentrations with an amazing array of flora and fauna species that provide preservation of the biosphere for our generation and generations to come.
