Planting Peace founder issued arrest citations for feeding homeless

Tuesday, Nov. 11 — Aaron Jackson, President of Planting Peace, was issued his second arrest citation in Fort Lauderdale for feeding the homeless at a feeding station Planting Peace organized in front of City Hall. Aaron traveled to Fort Lauderdale over the weekend to stand in solidarity with his friend Arnold Abbott, who made headlines after multiple arrests for providing meals to the homeless in the community.

“In 2013, there were 49 million people in the United States considered food insecure. Hunger exists in every county in America,” said Jackson. “We should be doing everything in our power to eradicate hunger, not spending our time and resources passing laws that keep people from simply providing a meal to someone who needs it.”

If you would like to stand with Aaron and Arnold, you can make a donation through our Crowdrise page. For every $10 donation, Planting Peace will provide meals for 20 people.
