Planting Peace Children’s Homes
Planting Peace Children's Homes
In 2004, Planting Peace began its efforts to help the 150 million homeless children worldwide. Our first project was a small children's home in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti. Since then, we have opened five more homes with additional homes scheduled to open every six months.
Unfortunately, the number of orphaned children worldwide is on the rise. Parents dying from AIDS, malnutrition, malaria, tuberculosis and governments offering little or no social services are why most children are forced onto the street. Once on the street, children are exposed to physical and sexual abuse, drugs and even slavery. In Haiti, it is estimated that 300,000 children are child slaves and each year another 30,000 kids are sent to it's neighboring country, the Dominican Republic, to support the sex trade industry.
Please help us make a difference!
Planting Peace, as well as many other organizations, offers volunteer opportunities all over the world and we need your help. Perhaps you are interested in helping rescue children from the trash dumps of Guatemala or raising funds to get children out of the sex slave trade industry in Cambodia If you are interested in helping we ask that you act quickly. Time is of the essence and these children need our help today.
